A food and Culture Study trip to India
A food and Culture Study trip across the subcontinent rich with diverse cuisines all defined by taste, region, climate and religious practices. Our study trip will delve into the Northern region of Punjab province. New Delhi as the biggest metropolis, we will cross the rich farms churning out healthy wheat for our later naan bread experience.
As with food, comes with cultural practices, our local chef will introduce us to the various religious practices, dialects and beliefs related to food. This Will incorporate market visits in the capital delhi carefully unnerving and learning about Indian spices,preparation methods and even naming of food.
Food in India is an identity marker of caste, class, family, kinship, tribe affiliation, lineage, religiosity, ethnicity, and increasingly, of secular group identification.
To complement our study trip, we will explore more traditional dishes, sample and document traditional ingredients,sample authentic restaurants and indulge local food experts for the wholesome experience. Our adventure will not be complete without taking a journey to the Agra region, one of the fertile places to experience the famous architectural masterpiece The Taj Mahal.
We will visit the local culinary school for an in-depth understanding of the history , culture and evolution of Indian food.
