Renaissance Art
Mostly commissioned by kings and rulers of cities, these often celebrate the ruling dynasty and prowess in architecture, military or science. A good example is the statue of the apostle Peter in front of St Peter’s Basilica, Rome.
Statues
Dedicated to persons of great influence to a region. Some are easy to miss unless a keen eye is within. Example is Beethoven sculpture in Bonn.
Commemorative art
They exist as installations of some history or part of history. Examples are the remnants of the Berlin wall scattered across the city.
Street graffiti
Most are very provocative yet push the narrative of addressing social issues. Often found in back streets.
Random Art
Do not seem to address a particular agenda and exists as a source of conversations to the inhabitants. Could be a sculpture, a pair of shoes hanging on the lamp post or an inverted road sign. These require a very keen eye to spot.
All in all art is the compass to understanding humans and everywhere we go there is art.
