Overview
Architecture & Culture Study trip to Qatar
A study trip to Qatar will offer a unique blend of educational, cultural, and professional experiences. As a modern country with deep-rooted traditions and a rapidly evolving economy, Qatar presents opportunities for learning in various fields, including culinary, engineering, architecture, environmental sustainability, and cultural studies.
A county rich with heritage and rich conservation efforts is also one of the most progressive architecturally. In our study trip, we will delve into the unique design projects led by two of the most innovative designers exploring the advancement of materials use, research and construction techniques.
For cultural context we will witness the transformation of the Qatar architecture by exploring the national museum of Qatar and studying the materials used in context to the harsh desert environment. The National Museum of Qatar is a great destination to immerse yourself into Qatar’s rich history, culture, and geology, with exhibits showcasing Islamic art, traditional jewellery and clothing, ancient weapons, and the country’s modern story of oil, gas, and the sea.
With the desire to learn more, our local architects will take us on a discovery journey of the world cup stadiums, a recent feat in the evolution of stadium architecture in the region. Done by leading architects of our time, this will be important for the football aficionados in the group.
In this educational trip, we will reward our curiosity by visiting the education city to visit some of the leading international universities present for an introduction into the opportunity of studying abroad. Within a short distance is The Qatar National Library, an architectural marvel designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas that houses more than 1 million books.
